1. Does it cost anything to use ComedyBids.com?
ComedyBids.com does not charge event planners, party planners and anyone else who is looking to book a comedian for their event. Our comedians pay a fee to be displayed on the website. You only pay your comedian's event fee if you choose to book one at all.

2. Do I need an account to request bids from comedians?
Yes. If you are interested in booking a comedian, our accounts are free, but are required if you want to contact our comedians. All we need is contact information so our comedians can get in touch with you ONLY IF you request a bid from them. We will never rent or sell your contact information to anyone.

3. I found a comedian of interest. How can I request a bid from them?
1. You first need to create an account if you haven't already. They're free!
2. Make sure you are logged into your account.
3. You need to 'Create An Event' where you enter all of the details of your upcoming event.
4. After creating an event, you can send bid requests by browsing our comedians. Each comedian page has a 'Request Bid' area at the bottom of their page. Once you find a comedian you like, select the event you just created and click 'Request Bid From Comedian.'
5. This will send an email to the comedian with your event details, and they will respond accordingly.

4. How much should I expect to spend on a comedian?
Fee ranges are very broad. Depending on your budget and event specifics, comedians may charge a few hundred to several thousand for an event. Discuss your budget requirements with our comedians if it is a high priority.

5. Do I have to sign any contracts to book a comedian?
ComedyBids.com does not require or provide any contracts; however, we strongly recommend that you sign a contract directly with your comedian. Most comedians have experience doing this, and it is a protective measure for you and the comedian. Make sure to note all specifics including date, venue, requirements, and fee(s) in your contract.

6. Can I call someone to help me book a comedian?

9. Should I hire a local comedian or one from farther away?
If you are working on a very tight budget, local comedians can sometimes lower a few of your costs such as lodging and travel, but it is most important to find a comedian that will make your event successful! Watch the comedians' videos to gauge their talent.

11. I've done everything and I'm ready to book a comedian. What do I need to do?
1. Make sure you have agreed on a fee with your comedian.
2. Log in to your account.
3. Under the Manage Events section, click 'Manage Events.'
4. Click 'View Bids' next to the event for which you're ready to book. (You may only have one event listed.)
5. Select the checkbox next to the name of the comedian you want to book and then click 'Book Comedian.'
6. Please enter the total agreed upon fee, select if you agree with our terms and conditions, and then click 'Book Comedian.'
Congratulations! You've booked a ComedyBids.com comedian for your event!

12. We decided to cancel our event, but we already "Booked A Comedian" through ComedyBids.com. What should we do?
If you already booked your comedian through ComedyBids.com and you subsequently cancelled the event before the event's date has arrived, please contact ComedyBids.com directly at 877.405.2437 so we can update our system to ensure we do not charge the comedian a commission. If you already have a signed contract between your organization and the comedian you booked, you will need to work directly with the comedian to resolve any disputes.
